National Health Partners Wednesday October 3, 10:03 am ET
HORSHAM, Pa – (BUSINESS WIRE) – National Health Partners, Inc. (National Health) (OTCBB: NHPR - News), a leading provider of unique discount healthcare membership programs, announced today that it has entered into a revenue sharing agreement with Internet Coupon Exchange, Inc. (iCE), a leading innovator that has created a state-of-the-art online service engine that simplifies the process of offering and redeeming coupons, vouchers and instant rebates for prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications.
Under the agreement, the iCE online service engine will enable CARExpress members to obtain coupons, vouchers and rebates on prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications through National Health’s CARExpress website. Each time a coupon, voucher or rebate is redeemed by a CARExpress member, iCE will be paid a transaction fee by the manufacturer of the medication that was purchased and iCE will then share a portion of this fee with National Health. National Health expects to make iCE’s drug coupons and rebates available to its members within the next few weeks.
Upon entering into this agreement with iCE, National Health became a member of the National Affinity Network (NAN) that iCE has established. NAN currently has approximately 350 participating organizations with more than 40 million unique members. iCE’s innovative network is comprised of such respected organizations as hospital and healthcare groups, professional and disease-related associations, alumni and community networks, banking and trade websites, and other consumer-driven affinity groups. The members of these organizations have substantial interaction with their organizations and, in most cases, among themselves. By the end of 2008, NAN expects to represent more than 600 affinity groups reaching over 100 million unique members.
A substantial portion of the NAN organization members are underinsured or have no insurance at all. National Health and iCE intend to launch a marketing campaign during the first quarter of 2008 through which they will specifically target these members with a product offering that will include National Health’s CARExpress membership programs with iCE’s prescription coupons and rebates. Through NAN organization websites, these members will be able to learn more about CARExpress and iCE and purchase a CARExpress membership program on a promotional basis. Terms of this arrangement will be determined by National Health and iCE later this year.
“Developing the most effective business collaborations takes creative thinking and the right business partners,” stated David M. Daniels, President and Chief Executive Officer of National Health Partners. “The Internet Coupon Exchange has developed a cutting-edge method of providing our CARExpress members with a way to save a significant amount of money on their prescription drugs and over-the-counter medications. This will provide us with two important benefits. First, each time a CARExpress member purchases a drug or medication using one of iCE’s coupons or rebates, we will receive a portion of the transaction fee paid by the drug manufacturer to iCE at no cost to us. Second, and more importantly, our ability to offer iCE’s coupons and rebates will provide uninsured and underinsured people with an even greater incentive to join CARExpress and remain a member of CARExpress for a long period of time.”
"We are very pleased to be working with National Health Partners and introducing the benefits of our state-of-the-art online service engine for drug and medication coupons and rebates to its members,” stated William Thomas, President and Co-Founder of the Internet Coupon Exchange. “We believe that a significant number of the members within our National Affinity Network will find the combination of CARExpress and our iCE drug coupons and rebates to be an ideal solution to the problem of rising healthcare costs. We look forward to working with National Health Partners to help address the ever-worsening healthcare crisis faced by millions of Americans each day.”
